Joshua 'Josh' Carter (born 25 May 1998) He is the famous brother of Nathan Carter, the cousin of Nero Johnson, the son of Liz Carter and David Carter.
Josh is a mischievous, manipulating character who is very good with words, he can take himself into and out many situations, jams and talk others into being apart of his schemes for him. He struggles with a selfish side to him that often leads him into trouble, until someone remains him that his behaviour hurts other people around him, so he ends up having to make up for his mistakes. Sometimes when he guilty he (like his brother Nathan) has a habit of touching his left ear, but he gets better at showing he lying as the seasons go on.
He was the main character and leader of the group from The First Gang and Series 2, and then in Season 3, he still has his Cool Boy Stiche but is threatened by his little cousin Nero Johnson who begins challenging Josh for his "Throne."
Josh's two best friends were Ash Newman and Ryan Woods. Ash was an the class-crown of the group and him and Josh were prankster but Ryan was rather timid and shy and hated pranks, he often tried to keep Josh and Ash, out of mischief, without any success and would just end up evolved, and the three would end up in the detention room, nicknamed the 4 O'Clock Club.
Josh has a big passion for music and DJing and wants to be like his big Nathan, known as Natty C, in his prime time, before he ended up being a teacher and head of discipline at Josh's School.
Josh's love of music is shown more as the series progresses as we see him spinning decks and making more rap music, of course Josh always loved music but he has a low attention span and somethings would just end up staring at a blank piece of paper and not get any thing done, however he was a good improviser and was good at making up his raps at the last minute. He often used his raps to apologise to people.
He LOATHED school and honest work, he felt very tied down by it, and would always look for the short cuts and the scams. He liked getting things now, and hated having to wait for anything.
His mum was a night-time nurse and had to work long hours so as result didn't have time to monitor Josh's behaviour, in The First Gang that was more Nathan's job, and in Series 2, Dexter took that role for Josh and then in Series 3, the mum became more involved in Josh life.
Josh dad was never on the scene for him, he walked out on the family on Nathan's twelve birthday in 1998,the year that was when Josh was born meaning Nathan is 12 years Josh Senior.
In The First Gang, Josh is 14 years old and Nathan is 26 years old.
Josh would sometimes ask about his dad but to avail as his mum and Nathan avoided talking about him, and there no photo in the house.
Josh presses Nathan for answers about his dad in Series 4: Episode 7: Time Capsule.
and Nathan tells him, we walked out of him on his twelve birthday, he didn't even buy Nathan a present but gave him an old watch he was wearing out of guilt, and later Nathan buried in a school time-capsule in 2000, when he was 14 years old.
Josh shows a more shocking side as seen in episode, Time Capsule, when he is trying to find out his real dad, due to no-one mentioning him and trying to find the truth that Nathan is hiding.
